FAQ's

What is a FlexiDry?
A proper clothesline. On lockable wheels.
It's a premium, New Zealand-made mobile clothesline featuring a smart dual-level frame. Handcrafted in our Bay of Plenty workshop, it replaces permanent outdoor clutter and flimsy clothes horses with a high-capacity, durable drying solution that moves with your lifestyle.
What sizes are available?
We currently manufacture two models:
|
The Compact Model: Built for smaller sections and townhouses. Provides 22.5m of line space and fits queen-size sheets comfortably. (1.95m long × 1.20m wide) |

Will it fit in a small outdoor space?
Yes. Because of its space-saving vertical design and smooth mobility, FlexiDry is ideal for townhouses, patios, and small urban terraces where a fixed clothesline simply won't—or can't—work.
Does it fold down?
No. FlexiDry is a heavy-duty mobile line. Adding folding hinges or collapsible joints creates weak points that loosen and sag over time. Keeping the frame solid and fully welded ensures the lifetime strength and rigidity FlexiDry is known for. If you're moving house or need long-term storage, the frame can be easily unbolted and laid flat.
🛠️ A note on a compactable model: We've had a lot of people ask for a compactable version for tighter storage spaces. We're actively working on one, but we won't release it until we're completely confident it meets the same standards for strength and durability as the rest of the FlexiDry range.
Can it be moved when it's fully loaded with wet washing?
Easily. The rigid frame glides smoothly on four heavy-duty castors, allowing you to steer it effortlessly to follow the sun, move it undercover when it rains, or roll it out of sight when entertaining.

Will it wheel on grass and gravel?
Yes. The heavy-duty castors handle standard lawns, concrete patios, and firm pathways without a problem. If your property has deep gravel, thick grass, or rugged rural terrain, we also offer an upgraded larger castor option to make moving it even easier.
How does FlexiDry handle windy conditions?
Brakes on!
FlexiDry is engineered specifically to prevent toppling, combining substantial material weight with a low centre of gravity. The Compact model sits at 46kg and the Family model at 54kg. To ensure maximum stability, all four heavy-duty castors feature independent foot brakes that lock firmly into position with a single click. No need to pile clunky sandbags over the base frame.
Can I leave it outside all year round?
Absolutely. Our frames are manufactured from galvanised box section steel, and we apply a zinc finish after assembly to provide excellent protection against rust and weathering.
What does the powder coating do?
We offer an optional powder-coated finish for customers wanting to match their home's joinery, suit a specific exterior colour scheme, or meet developer design covenants. While our standard galvanised and zinc finish offers exceptional weather protection, we can also add a specialised protective undercoat beneath the powder coating for an additional layer of defence in beachfront environments exposed to continuous salt spray.

Is it suitable for children or people with limited mobility?
Yes. The 0.90m lower tier provides a comfortable, accessible hanging height that eliminates the need for reaching high overhead. Because the frame rolls easily without heavy lifting or physical strain, it is ideal for maintaining independence and everyday ease of use.
How does it save power?
Using free wind and sunshine instead of running an electric tumble dryer can make an immediate difference to your monthly power bill. It also protects your clothes—natural air-drying helps prevent the fabric thinning, shrinkage, and fading caused by the intense heat of a dryer.
Do they come assembled or flatpack?
The choice is yours. We ship FlexiDry nationwide as a flatpack, or we can deliver it fully assembled within our delivery zones.
How difficult is assembly?
Not difficult at all. Every flatpack comes with clear instructions and a link to a step-by-step video assembly guide that shows you exactly how to get it sorted without the traditional flatpack headache.
Can I collect one myself?
Absolutely. Click & Collect is completely free from either our Bay of Plenty workshop or our Christchurch depot.
Do you deliver nationwide?
Yes. To keep shipping fast and affordable across both islands, we operate a dedicated South Island depot in Christchurch alongside our Bay of Plenty workshop. Delivery pricing is calculated individually based on your location and delivery requirements.

What if I live outside your main delivery areas but still want it delivered fully assembled?
Talk to us. If you, your neighbours, or a few friends in your local area want to pool your orders together, we can often load up the trailer and organise a dedicated delivery run to bring multiple fully assembled units straight to your area at once.
Where can I see a FlexiDry in person?
You can view our lines in action at various regional home shows and field days throughout the year, or arrange a private viewing at our Bay of Plenty workshop or Christchurch depot. Simply get in touch to arrange a time.

What warranty applies?
Every frame is backed by a comprehensive 24-month structural warranty, reflecting our commitment to premium New Zealand craftsmanship and long-term durability. Warranty excludes standard PVC-coated tension lines.
